Posters & short films
Bring a board or a film. Both formats exist so a survey team, a conservation desk or a single diver with a winter of footage can put work in front of people who still dive.
We invite organisations and individuals to take part in the Poster Sessions and Diving Quickies. These slots are how research, conservation and exploration work from around the world reaches the Kiel room — divers and non-divers alike. Questions go to info@globaldivingconference.com.
Poster sessions
Boards stand in the foyer on Saturday and Sunday, 08:00–19:00. It is an open house: you keep a pitch, people walk. Keep the sheet simple — aim, snag, result — so a stranger can learn the project in two minutes.
Size. Maximum 84.1 × 118.9 cm (A0). 81 × 112 cm reads better in that corridor. No mains power at the stand.
Fee. €500 covers the 1 × 1 m stand and one conference ticket. Registered charities and conservation groups may ask for a reduced rate.
Write before the first of the month prior to the meeting if you want a slot.
The aim of a poster here is a short account of your group’s objectives, snags and results — enough to draw support for the work, not a second paper. Keep the board simple so visitors can cover the whole floor.
Diving Quickies — video
Selected shorts play during Saturday’s banquet. Groups may show a season. Individuals may show a single piece of water that still surprises them.
Length. Eight minutes or less. Common file types are fine; if you are unsure, send a test clip.
Category. Mark the piece as Cave/Mine, Wreck, Reef, or Other (say what).
Deadline: first of the month prior to the conference. Same mailbox as posters.
Films are not limited to exploration groups. Teams who want to show a season are welcome; so are individuals with a single piece of water that still surprises them. Name a category so the jury can sort the pile: Cave/Mine, Wreck, Reef, or Other.
Organisation slides
We run a short slide loop of groups who want their name in the room. Vector files (EPS, AI, SVG) first; otherwise a 150–300 dpi TIFF or JPEG. Same deadline as posters.
